About
Stephan Grixti was born in 1993 on a small island in the heart of Mediterranean named Malta. His love for art began from the tender age of 8 years old, drawing Disney characters, and as time passed by he continued to refine his skills by practicing various types of art mediums, and even photography, as one can see from the portfolio above. Due to his busy schedule he started using a DSLR in his teens, and shot various subjects along the years, from landscapes to long exposure in black and white, in his free time.
As years went by he picked the pencil again and started drawing portraits, and also pursued his studies in art by doing art courses taught by different professional art teachers. He has experimented with various art mediums (like watercolor, graphite and acrylic) and photography techniques (for example long exposure and macro photography). Even though photography is a totally different medium than traditional and digital art, some similarities can be seen in his work, like for example using vibrant colors and also dramatic scenes.
Nowadays, he has also started creating paintings and drawings of various subjects using a realistic style, and also finds time to occasionally find unique spots around the Maltese island to shoot. His inspiration comes from the various art and photography exhibitions he visits, and also the huge amount of references available on the internet.
